Baubie Janice and Zaydie (Ellen's parents, formerly known as Mimi and Papa) came to visit Dana this weekend. It had been a few months since they had seen her in Chicago so it was time for them to come visit Dallas. Baubie also wanted to go to Bim Bam Shabbat with Dana, so we coordinated a weekend to do that.
Dana enjoyed spending the whole weekend with them. My dad got a new camera, so Dana was his first model. He took over 600 pictures and video of her over the weekend. Below is just a sampling of the best.
Baubie and Zaydie enjoyed spending Friday morning at Bim Bam Shabbat at Shearith. Baubie sat on the floor with Dana and sang songs, played with a ball, did an art project, and listened to story time. Afterwards, while Dana napped, Baubie and Zaydie had fun at Toys R Us, buying Dana some more toys, including her own ball to play with since she loved the ones at Bim Bam so much.
Saturday was spent looking at a big girl stroller for Dana. It was time to allow Dana to see the world when we went out, instead of leaving her in the car seat with the snap-n-go frame. We went to BuyBuy Baby to check out their selection. After quite a bit of debating, we chose the City Mini by Baby Jogger. It handles really well and we hope it will handle the "semi" all terrain neighborhood that we live in (aka lots of old sidewalks). Baubie and Zaydie had fun playing with Dana and her new toys all afternoon. We enjoyed lots of yummy food with everyone, including seeing Bubbie Lynell and Auntie Whitney for dinner.
Sunday we met up for brunch with Bubbie Lynell and Auntie Whitney. Dana was a ham sitting in a high chair for the first time. She enjoyed looking around at everyone, and of course, eating her Sophie doll and the strap on the chair. Sunday afternoon was spent hanging around the house playing with Dana.
Monday was another fun day of shopping at Ikea. We got Dana some great toys in the children's department. They really have some neat things for very cheap. Zaydie had to leave early Tuesday morning to go back to work, so we spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out at home and napping.
Since the nanny was auditioning for American Idol in Austin, Baubie got to stay and babysit Dana while Mommy was at work. Dana was a great girl all week for Baubie, though I don't think Baubie wants to do this all the time. We enjoyed spending all the time with Baubie and Zaydie over the weekend and look forward to visiting with them soon.
